Road to Victory
artificial leather, furniture stuffing, graphite, aluminium roller door
Hordaland Kunstsenter, Bergen, 27 January – 9 April 2017
Blacked out installation entered through a makeshift cut in a roller door, once inside viewers encountered a group of oversized soft sculptures of hands – made of black pleather and filled with furniture stuffing – interacting with black upholstered pedestals in various orientations. The surfaces of the black painted walls are covered in lines of text drawn in graphite that quote from the catalogue for the 1942 exhibition designed by Herbert Bayer, ‘Road to Victory’ at Museum of Modern Art, New York.
